Your Best Skin, Prescribed and Delivered

Retinoids are Vitamin A-based medications proven to reverse skin aging related to sun damage. Retinoid creams like tretinoin and adapalene increase production of collagen and hyaluronic acid and accelerate turnover of the skin’s top layer. Over time this reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, uneven pigmentation, and rough texture.

Medications We Deliver

Tretinoin: The generic version of Retin-A®, tretinoin is the most widely prescribed retinoid that treats signs of skin aging related to sun exposure. Your Nurx provider can prescribe tretinoin in three strengths. If a patient is new to retinoids they will usually start a patient on the lowest strength and, if desired, switch the patient to a stronger retinoid if the milder retinoid is well-tolerated (meaning it doesn’t cause skin flaking or irritation).

Adapalene: This less irritating retinoid (which has a non-prescription 0.1% strength version called Differin®) may be prescribed to people with sensitive skin conditions, such as eczema, who experience irritation or redness when using Tretinoin.

Anti-Aging Questions?

  • How does anti-aging treatment with Nurx work?

Nurx’s anti-aging treatment service was created in consultation with a board-certified dermatologist with expertise in delivering dermatology care via telehealth. When you request anti-aging treatment a Nurx medical provider licensed in your state evaluates your health history and photos of your skin and (if medically appropriate) prescribes a retinoid cream for your specific needs.

To start anti-aging treatment with Nurx, visit the Nurx website or download the Nurx app and fill out an online intake, detailing your skin and health history, including photos of your skin concerns. These photos are uploaded directly into your secure Nurx account.

Our pharmacy will fill the prescription and mail medication to your home. The medication will typically arrive 3-5 days after the prescription is filled.

You will be able to message the Nurx medical team any time for the one-year length of service.

  • How much does anti-aging treatment through Nurx cost?

You’ll pay $30 for the medical consultation when you submit your request, and the retinoid medications we prescribe cost $90 for a 3-month supply. Refills are sent automatically every 3 months, and shipping is always free. We do not bill insurance for anti-aging treatment, because it is generally not covered.

  • What type of anti-aging treatment does Nurx prescribe?

Nurx prescribes and delivers four different retinoid creams: Adapalene 0.3% and Tretinoin in three strengths: 0.025%, 0.05% and 0.1%. After reviewing your health history and the photos you shared a Nurx medical provider will prescribe the best retinoid for your skin. If you have used one of these retinoid creams in the past and would like to use it again please share that information when you make your online request.

  • Who can use the anti-aging service from Nurx?

People 18 and up, of all genders, who live in one of the states where Nurx operates can request anti-aging treatment through Nurx. Although we refer to this treatment as “anti-aging,” patients in their 20s and 30s can benefit from using retinoids too. Signs of photo-aging (skin damage related to sun exposure) can appear as early as one’s 20s, and getting started on retinoid therapy at that age can reverse and prevent further damage when combined with a diligent sun protection routine. People in their 40s and older who already have significant signs of photo-aging can still benefit from topical retinoid therapy. This treatment is safe to use long-term and is most effective when used consistently for years or even decades. Of note, individuals who are pregnant or trying to get pregnant should not use topical retinoids (prescription or over-the-counter).
