Shaun Young
Shaun Young is a healthcare executive turned entrepreneur, who began his career as a pharmacist working in underserved communities. His early experiences instilled a strong belief that everyone deserves access to affordable healthcare. Shaun’s career spans almost every sector of healthcare, as a pharmacist practicing in Retail, Hospital, and Primary Care with CVS, Kaiser Permanente, and Eli Lilly. As the President of Hawaii Pharmacist Association, he helped pass legislation to allow pharmacist administration of vaccines and pharmacist dispensing of emergency medications, such as Plan B and Naloxone. In corporate settings, he led healthcare innovation and consumer healthcare at Walmart and Cardinal Health. After the birth of his second child, he made the leap, from leading 100+ person teams and multi-billion dollar businesses in the corporate world to founding a health insurance startup for Millennials. Most recently Shaun was head of pharmacy benefits at Bind, a United Healthcare-backed disruptive health insurance startup. Shaun joined Nurx to bring affordable care to everyone, with or without insurance. Shaun earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of the Pacific and MBA from Harvard Business School.
