Velivet is an oral birth control pill taken daily. There are seven beige active pills, seven orange active pills, seven pink active pills, and seven white reminder pills. Take one active tablet daily for 21 consecutive days followed by the white inactive tablet for seven days.

Typically, yes. You should know, however, that hormone-based medications can interfere with Velivet and reduce its effectiveness or cause bad reactions. Going over any medications you're taking in addition to Velivet with your doctor can help avoid these negative interactions. Velivet has been shown to have minor interactions with Xanax, lorazepam, and alprazolam, but these interactions are only classified as minimally clinically significant. As such, you might be able to take Velivet along with these medications under special circumstances.

It depends. Some women have reported weight gain when taking Velivet, but others noticed minimally decrease appetites and no weight gain. With any oral contraceptive, there is a slight risk that you might gain weight.

Since Velivet helps regulate the hormones that cause hormonal acne, it shouldn't cause breakouts. Many women have reported clearer skin from taking birth control pills like Velivet.

No, Velivet regulates your period. When taken correctly, you will still have a period every month although it may be lighter and less painful than normal.
